Paradise Birds (personal)

Paradise Birds is a photographic and sculptural body of work that explores female embodiment through surreal imagery, symbolic forms, and constructed environments. Bringing together photography, sculpture, and installation, the project imagines a symbolic territory where female bodies, experiences, and forms of knowledge can be encountered outside inherited hierarchies.

Drawing on mythology, biological cycles, and collective memory, the work reflects on the relationship between embodiment, knowledge, and meaning. The women inhabiting these images exist somewhere between the human and the archetypal. Rather than portraying specific individuals, they appear as carriers of memory, transformation, and generative potential.

Balancing between lived reality and imagined worlds, Paradise Birds creates a realm where the real and the surreal coexist, appearing simultaneously familiar and otherworldly. Through transformed figures, vessels, water, openings, and recurring organic forms, the work approaches the female body as both a biological reality and a symbolic terrain where personal experience, cultural narratives, and inherited forms of knowledge intersect.

Rather than offering fixed narratives, Paradise Birds invites contemplation. It creates space for biological, symbolic, and lived understandings of female experience to coexist. Within this imagined territory, the body becomes both subject and source.
